New and used Cadillac Information:
Cadillac was created by Henry M.Leland who learnt the art of forging in New England USA. After the Civil War he mocved to Detroit and started a company called Leland and Faulconer. Thisd company made castings, automative engines and chassis components.
When the Detroit Automobile Company closed, affecting Lelands’ business he decided to start the Cadillac Motor Company. The name Cadillac comes from Le Sieur Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, the founder of Detroit.
Then, in 1903, the 1st Cadillac was exhibited at the New York Automobile Show. The price of this car was $750.
The company continued creating new models and in 1908 entered three Cadillacs in the Dewar Trophy . This award goes out annually for the most significant automotive advancement. Cadillac won this award, getting them some notoriety and creating the base for a successful future.
